"Chef's battle, musicians jam but artists rumble" I was told during my Wednesday evening at the Rumble House (formerly known as Gorilla House on 15th Ave SW) in downtown Calgary. From 7:00pm - 9:00pm every Wednesday, a collection of artists from every walk of life and artistic medium, spend two seemingly frantic but surprisingly calm hours putting skill and imagination into finished works.
It can be a little overwhelming standing in the tight halls while artists are coming and going, creating and talking. Each room full of friends, new and old, all gingerly making and painting and carrying on.
At the end of the night, those who wish can place their creations up for auction with the proceeds being split between the artist and helping fund Rumble House itself. As the deadline drew near, the public poured through the front door and gathered around to see the offerings from that nights rumble.
