I had the fantastic opportunity to shoot this weeks cover story for Fast Forward Weekly’s Spring Fashion Issue.
FFwd’s Lifestyle and Arts Editor Krista Sylvester and I teamed up over the past two weekends stopping strangers and asking them about their fashion choices and grabbing a few photos.
Originally we’d hoped to shoot outside to follow with the spring theme, but Calgary weather rarely follows the months as guidelines. The two spots we ended up stalking were Art Central and Market Collective.

When I first graduated I was very focused on creating the exact photo I had in my mind when I got an assignment. As I worked more in the field I began to realize that depending on a plan is actually more hampering than helpful in a lot of situations, especially in editorial shoots.
Moral of the story: I shot some fashion. Don’t over think things. Know your stuff and let your creativity guide you.
