I met Brad 5 years ago in the house he shared with a good friend. I was invited to join them in a game of Dungeon's and Dragons on a campaign Brad had been pulling together for a few weeks.
Over the next eight months we'd meet once a week and work our way through every imaginable scenario in pursuit of a long lost treasure and dragons. All the while Brad, the true to life sage he is, would put up with all manner of tomfoolery which often derailed his carefully laid out plans.
In and around this time, Kim had started joining us when her and Brad were living in Calgary.
Then they left Calgary. Traveling first to the West coast in an old VW van. Eventually they passed back through Calgary and settled in Nova Scotia.
We began to see each other only occasionally, but every time we simply picked up where we left off and carried on. Eventually they announced their engagement and wedding plans began to form.
I offered to photograph it. They were thrilled. I was thrilled. Everyone was thrilled. One year later and I was in a car full of old friends driving through the Nova Scotian highlands to the farming village of Canning and eventually the Ross Creek Arts Centre.
On a foggy morning, at the end of June, in a yurt on the edge of the ocean I had the incredible honour of documenting two friends starting a new chapter together.
There's so many more photos to share and you can check out an abridged collection from the day by clicking here.
I'll be officially launching my wedding packages and be opening 2018 bookings come September of this year. More info soon!
Special thanks to Brad and Kim for being incredible hosts along with all the staff at Ross Creek Arts Centre for everything they did to make the wedding day and stay so lovely.
